Broncos should take a look at Tyrod Taylor

The Denver Broncos would be better off adding a veteran quarterback, because Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch aren’t ready to lead them that far. The team has been linked to Tony Romo and Philip Rivers, but the chance of either coming to Denver remain a long shot.

Could the team then look at Tyrod Taylor, who’s not returning to the Buffalo Bills after two solid seasons? Evan Massey from Inquisitr took a look at the question, and he sees a fit here:

“While he may not have put up the biggest numbers, Taylor still showed that he is a capable starter. He took care of the football while recording solid numbers for what he had to work with…Signing Taylor to be the Broncos’ new starting quarterback would be the type of change that Elway could make to help turn things around after a rough season.”

Taylor has tossed over 3,000 yards in each of the last two seasons, despite not having a legitimate number one target, as Sammy Watkins hasn’t been able to stay healthy. He had 37 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in his two seasons as the Bills starter while putting up over 500 rushing yards in 2015 and 2016.

The Broncos have Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas, who would give Taylor a pair of lethal weapons. Taylor would have likely taken to Buffalo in one of his two seasons there if he had the defense the Bills had in 2014. With a better defense in Denver, he’d had every chance to win.

Taylor has a solid arm, is a reliable game manager and can make great plays with his legs. The Broncos should look at Taylor if the chance is there. He’d be a huge upgrade over Siemian, while giving them the best opportunity to win now.
