Bad news for the Denver Broncos: starting running back C.J. Anderson has a “significant but not complete” meniscus tear and will undergo surgery to repair it on Thursday evening.

Via Denver 9News reporter Mike Klis, doctors won’t know the extent of Anderson’s injury until the surgery, and he will be out either eight weeks or 12 weeks.

Anderson was injured Sunday night, early in the Broncos’ win over the Houston Texans, but continued to play even after suffering his injury on the last play of the first quarter.
