Broke Girls' wit opens People's Choice Awards

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The People's Choice Awards are underway with a gut-busting set of wisecracks from hosts Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs.

Dennings' dry delivery cutely blended with Behrs' quirky disposition, making the stars of hit show "2 Broke Girls" a savvy riot Wednesday night.

Dennings joked, "She's the Hathaway, I'm the Franco," in reference to the acting duo who hosted the Academy Awards in 2011.

With help from fellow actors Ian Somerhalder, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Arsenio Hall, Ian Ziering, Kaley Cuoco and Christina Aguilera, the duo who play waitresses on their show took the orders of some of the nominees for a hilarious introductory skit.

Broadcasting live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Sean Hayes presented the first award of the evening to favorite movie actress Sandra Bullock.
