Brock Lesnar Won't Be Punished by WWE for UFC-Related Failed Drug Tests
Brock Lesnar the UFC fighter faces some stiff penalties for testing positive for a banned substance on two drug tests. Brock Lesnar the WWE Superstar? Not so much.
Lesnar tested positive to a banned substance in a June 28 out-of-competition drug test and then again on UFC 200 fight night on July 9. When it comes to his UFC career, those positive results are likely to come with a lengthy suspension, possibly somewhere around 2 years, and a fine payable to the state of Nevada. It isn't, however, going to affect his ability to compete in the WWE's upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view on Aug. 21 in New York.
In a statement released to TMZ and FOX Sports on Tuesday, the WWE stated, “WWE's talent wellness program does not apply to part-time performers such as Brock Lesnar.”
Apparently, Lesnar wrestled for the WWE four times in 2014, eight times in 2015, and seven times to date in 2016. FOX Sports' report noted that the average WWE wrestler performs more than 200 times per year.
Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in a three-round co-main event. Should his drug test results be upheld, that result will likely be changed to a no contest.

Hunt, however, is unlikely to receive any monetary compensation, despite Lesnar having collected a $2.5 million disclosed payday for the fight, and several million more on the non-disclosed portion of his compensation. That doesn't sit well with Hunt, who has blasted the UFC, and called for the formation of a fighter's association.
It will probably take a few months for Lesnar's adjudication process to play out, but meanwhile, he'll be stepping back into the squared circle to perform with Randy Orton at one of the WWE's biggest events of the year.
