Britons want another EU referendum as they say the government is bungling the Brexit negotiations
Britons want another EU referendum as they say the government is botching Brexit, a poll has found.
The Sky Data survey revealed that just 10% of the public think prime minister Theresa May’s government is doing a good job with Brexit negotiations with the EU.
And 50% said there should be another referendum which gives UK voters the choice between the eventual deal suggested by the government, no deal – or remaining in the EU. Only 40% said there shouldn’t be a second vote.
When asked to choose between those three options, 48% opted for remaining in the EU, compared to 27% who would leave with no deal, with 13% going for the government’s deal. A further 8% said they would not vote, while 3% don’t know.
Asked to choose between those options, not leaving the EU would be the preferred option for 48%, with 27% preferring to leave the EU with no deal, and 13% choosing the government deal – 8% say they would not vote, 3% don’t know.
Two-thirds of Britons – including the majority of Leave voters – now believe the outcome of Brexit negotiations will be bad for the UK, the survey found.
More than three-quarters of the British public (78%) think the government is doing a bad job of negotiating Brexit.
This is an increase of 23% when they were asked the same question in March.

When asked if they were satisfied with Theresa May’s performance as prime minister, 24% said they were happy, while 74% said they were dissatisfied – a rise of 14%.
Two-thirds (65%) think the government’s eventual Brexit deal will be bad for Britain – including 51% of Leavers.

Sky Data interviewed 1,466 Sky customers online between July 20 and 23 across the UK.
The results of the poll come as the government says it is planning for a no-deal Brexit when the UK leaves the EU on March 29, 2019.
Mrs May has ruled out another referendum on Brexit, after the June 2016 poll when 51.9% of the nation voted to leave against 48.1% who wanted to remain.
The Labour Party has so far refrained from calling for another referendum, but there have been growing calls for one from individual MPs and political commentators.
