British couple beaten up on Halloween in Paris by French thugs who 'targeted girlfriend's costume'
A British couple who were violently beaten up in Paris on Halloween by French thugs after they pestered the girlfriend for her choice of fancy dress outfit have warned holidaymakers to remain vigilant while abroad.
Christopher Williams, 27, and girlfriend Rebecca Kevan, 21, were on a romantic six-day getaway in the city when they were attacked by strangers.
The pair decided to go out for Halloween, hitting trendy bars around the busy Place de la Bastille until 4am the next day.
But during the 10-minute journey, four white Frenchmen suddenly pulled up alongside the pair in a hatchback and heckled Ms Kevan, who was dressed as a bunny rabbit and wearing a tight dress.
Mr Williams, who was dressed as the Grim Reaper, stood between the car and his girlfriend and asked them to stop.
But his arm was suddenly grabbed and pulled through the front passenger-side window.
He was then allegedly dragged 50m at over 30mph up the trendy Rue de la Roquette, before being dropped and then beaten by the gang.
In a panic, Ms Kevan chased them up the road, but was also punched in the face several times, resulting in head trauma and a fractured finger.
Me Williams was kicked, punched, and suffered a chipped tooth during the vicious three-minute-attack.

The attack - which was broken up after a heroic passersby intervened and called emergency services - left both the victims with broken noses.
Christopher and Rebecca were rushed to Hospital Saint-Antoine Ap-Hp and treated for their injuries, before reporting the assault to police the next day.
Ms Kevan sustained heavy facial bruising "the size of a golf ball" that she has been unable to conceal with make-up and has been forced to take time off from her job as a barmaid due to her injuries.
Meanwhile, her boyfriend of three years is having dental surgery to fix his chipped front tooth.
Mr Williams, from Liverpool, described the attack as an "unexpected, aggressive assault on two innocents enjoying a night in Paris".
He is now advising Brits to "always be on the lookout while holidaying" in western Europe - and in particular hopes young women will "watch out".
The full-time carer said: "It was without doubt the scariest moment of our lives to date - we've never experienced anything so horrifying in our lives. The attack ruined our entire trip, which cost us thousands of pounds and left us with nasty injuries and a mixed bag of memories.
"We were prey to a barbaric, vicious attack, and I thank God that pedestrians was passing by when it was happening. I don't know how the whole thing would have ended if we weren't saved.
"There's no excuse for what these men did, and I hope the police catch them. It was a genuine Halloween nightmare."
