'Britain's Got Talent' police dog magic act Dave and Finn branded a "fix"
Britain’s Got Talent viewers have branded police dog magic act Dave and Finn frauds, despite them being voted through to the final.
PC Dave Wardell and his dog Finn won the public vote along with Flakefleet Primary School in Monday night’s first live semi-final of the ITV talent show with their mind-reading act.
But outraged viewers took to Twitter claiming Dave had ‘fixed’ the results of their trick.
The first reason was because Dave asked Simon Cowell to choose a dog’s name at random, and when he picked “Squidly”, asked him to shorten it to “Squid”. The name was then revealed in a pre-recorded video.
As part of the act judges Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams were asked to help choose six letters at random from a flip board of multiple options.
But when Cowell handed the board back to Dave the retired police officer continued to flip the letters the position he wanted.
After inviting six police Alsatian puppies on stage and revealing they were wearing vests with letters spelling out the word, “Future”, Cowell was asked to reveal the board to the camera, also showing the letters F-U-T-U-R-E.
Some viewers expressed their anger on social media.
#BritainsGotTalent #BGT David and Finn, more like David and Fix 😪

The act was fixed though & the show is called #BritainsGotTalent, not Britain's Got Heroes. The dog is awesome but does it qualify him going through BECAUSE he's a hero? What if there was a guy who sat on a chair doing nothing but he's a doctor, would he deserve to go through?

These “magic” acts proper messed up last night. I don’t no how Dave and Finn got through when the guy set the letters up?! 🤔🤔 #bgt #BritainsGotTalent

Professional dog trainers Mat and Kelly wrote: “Makes me sick!! That’s before you begin to consider the eye watering display of incomprehensible magic skills!!....pick a letter, now I’ll ‘randomly’ change them.”
Another branded the act: “Dave and Fix.”
But despite the outrage from some viewers, Dave and Finn were voted through to Sunday night’s BGT final by the public, leaving the former police officer in tears.
I’m in tears thank you all so so much I honestly don’t know what to say 🐾 pic.twitter.com/DL6pCUo8Ku

The other finalist to be chosen from last night’s show was bookmaker’s favourites Flakefleet Primary School, who made judge David Walliams weep with their heart-warming musical act.
