Bristol Motor Speedway to host Veteran Fair on March 26: Live music, food trucks, & more

BRISTOL, Tenn. (WJHL) — Warrior’s Canvas and Veterans Art Center is inviting the community to the second annual Appalachian Veteran Fair on March 26, the organization announced in a release on Wednesday.

The event will be at Bristol Motor Speedway from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This free event will host outdoor activities just in time for the spring season, including:

  • food trucks

  • live music

  • art shows

  • vendors

  • fundraising drawings

  • live demonstrations

“The primary focus is to educate, create awareness and connect veterans and their families to organizations and groups with resources for serving various needs,” organizer Maria Whiston of Warrior’s Canvas and Veterans Art Center said. “This is a way to bring veterans groups together to encourage partnerships and community teamwork, and to learn about all these groups.”

More than 141 Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) are registered to participate in the Veteran Fair, according to the release. These organizations offer health services, access to peer groups, social clubs and more.

Together, these organizations aim to increase networking between VSOs and the large veteran population in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Western North Carolina.

The Appalachian Veteran Fair is partnered with Warrior’s Canvas, Goodwill, East Tennessee State University’s Veteran’s and Military Services, and the Department of Appalachian Studies.
