Bringing back the sunshine with more 70° warmth

We made the top 10 for April rainfall records. Indianapolis picked up 7.77″ of rain this month which is good for the 8th wettest April on record. Over 1″ of that rainfall came from the system yesterday. We were just a little shy of being 3.50″ above the average for the month. The average is 4.34″.

Rain has moved out, the ground is drying and clouds will be decreasing through this morning. Foggy conditions have developed to start Tuesday and some locations are registering visibility at less than 1/10th of a mile. The worst areas are located to the north and to the west of Indianapolis.

The fog will burn off by mid morning and give way to a lot of afternoon sunshine. Winds shifting out of the southwest today will send temperatures to the mid 70s.

The Indians return for the start of a homestand tonight against the Buffalo Bisons. This will be a great night for baseball with clear skies and comfortable temperatures. First pitch is at 6:05 PM.

Temperatures warm to the 80s Wednesday and Thursday with the chance for a couple of isolated showers early Wednesday morning. Our next big push of rain comes at the end of the week, on Friday. A few spotty showers may linger into early Saturday morning.
