From Town & Country

Lots of kids get to have tea parties. Only royal ones get to do it in a palace.

That's the experience young twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, the children of Monaco's Princess Charlene, were treated to today in Paris. French First Lady Brigitte Macron welcomed them to Elysée Palace, often getting down on her knees to engage with the youngsters. (She was once a teacher, after all.)

Princess Charlene posted about the visit on Instagram, noting that it was her children's first trip to Paris. "Merci pour votre hospitalité. Nous adorons Paris! [Thank you for your hospitality. We love Paris!]" she added.

Per the third photo in the slideshow, it seems that President Emmanuel Macron may have joined them for a bit as well. He is seen holding his adopted dog Nemo, a three-year-old Labrador-Griffin, and smiling at Princess Gabriella.

Amid all the finery-marble-laden halls, decadent chandeliers-Prince Jacques was able to bring the meeting down to earth. Clutching a Spiderman doll throughout the visit, he reminded all in attendance that despite his petite, well-tailored suit, he was still just a kid.

Although they surely enjoyed their social visit, the Monaco royals are in town for something more politically resonant. World leaders (elected and otherwise) are in town to commemorate the centenary of World War I. Just yesterday, Mrs. Macron and Princess Charlene were together at the Chateau de Versailles for the Head of State's Partner Luncheon, one of the many events arranged for the anniversary of the 1918 Armistice.

While yesterday's appearance may have had more geopolitical gravitas, today's certainly had its own, cuter, merits.
