Bridge restoration to impact Route 642 traffic starting Friday

May 9—MILTON — A bridge preservation project will shut down eastbound traffic between Route 15 in Union County and Route 642 in Milton, Northumberland County, starting at 7 a.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Monday.

RAM Services of Michigan, is the prime contractor for this $4.3 million preservation project. The bridge carries Route 642 over the West Branch Susquehanna River between West Milton and Milton. Work on this project includes patching the deck, waterproofing the barriers, preserving the deck with an epoxy overlay, and paving the bridge approaches.

Motorists traveling Route 642 eastbound (West Milton to Milton) will be detoured using Route 15 North, Interstate 80 East, Route 147 South, and Route 642. Motorists traveling Route 642 westbound (Milton to West Milton) will be maintained in the work zone.

Weekend detours are to be expected for the next 10 weekends.
