“Trees come down, some fell across the roads, and in some cases, it did some damage to the sides of the roads. Most of the water damage is what we’re dealing mostly water damage is what we’re dealing with,” said John Moore, Smith County Commissioner for Precinct 2.

Closed signs on CR- 294 have caused drivers who are trying to get to downtown Arp to find an alternate route.

It” was just water running downhill and then running over the side of the road and that’s what eventually caused it to start to crumble and then fall apart,” said Moore.

There are chances of rain next week, but the county does not expect any delays.

County officials are encouraging drivers to call in any damaged roads seen to 903- 590- 2661.
