Brian Williams' 11th Hour MSNBC News Show Sets Premiere Date

MSNBC has marked the premiere date for Brian Williams' new nightly news program.

Announced Thursday, the network's 11th Hour with Brian Williams will debut Tuesday, Sept. 6.

The weekly evening program will provide a unique look at the day's major political stories, breaking campaign news and the next morning's headlines during the final days of the presidential campaign between Labor Day and November's election.

Williams, 57, will anchor the program live from MSNBC Election Headquarters at Rockefeller Center in New York.

"We want a broadcast that will feel like a continuation of the conversation we've had all during this unprecedented campaign season," Williams said in a statement.

"As the general election ramps up, there's an opportunity to assess and discuss the campaign at the end of each day. With the help of the very best team in the business, we hope to offer some closure and sanity in addition to previewing where the campaigns are headed next," said Williams.

MSNBC President Phil Griffin stated, "This new assignment is a natural extension of the hundreds of hours of political coverage Brian has anchored through this campaign cycle so far."

The nightly news show is Williams' first program following his exit from NBC Nightly News last year.

MSNBC's 11th Hour with Brian Williams will debut Tuesday, Sept. 6. at 11 p.m. ET.
