After being hit, Mendez was tended to by trainers and paramedics. He was carted off the field on a stretcher and immediately taken to a local hospital. The teams opted to call the game following the play.
The 20-year-old Mendez has been a member of Milwaukee’s organization since 2014. He’s hitting .252/.290/.309 over two levels this season.
