BREAKING: OT Jake Long will not be a Raven
Veteran OT Jake Long has declined to sign with the Baltimore Ravens according to reports from ESPN’s Adam Shefter. After the two sides had initially agreed to terms on a new contract problems came about because of Long’s physical.

Before he decided to sign with the Baltimore Ravens Jake Long visited physician Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion on the status of his knee. Although Long received a positive report and was enthused by Dr. Andrews evaluation Jake Long decided not to sign with the Ravens because they were going to require him to sign an injury waiver. Under the terms of the injury waiver the Baltimore Ravens would be financially protected if Jake Long had experienced any physical problems with his knee during the season. Jake Long tore his ACL in the same knee during both the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He played in just four games for the Atlanta Falcons last season.

The Ravens coaching staff was planning on using OT Jake Long as a veteran backup to top draft choice Left Tackle Ronnie Stanley. Jake Long is officially a free agent and can sign with any NFL team.
