Landslide kills at least 29 in Naga City, Philippines following heavy rain
A landslide hit Sitio Sindulan, Barangay Tinaan in Naga City Thursday morning local time, police said.
Rescuers have been deployed to the area to search for survivors amid the mud and debris.
More than two dozen houses have been buried in the landslide, according to CNN.
Twenty-nine fatalities have been confirmed by local authorities, according to the AP. Among the dead are a four-year-old child and an elderly woman.
Naga city Mayor, Kristine Vanessa Chiong also said Thursday evening, local time, that at least 64 people were still missing following the landslide.

The landslide hit while people farther north on Luzon were still dealing with deaths and widespread distruction from former Typhoon Mangkhut last weekend.
"The city of Naga, and the Cebu province, were not directly hit by the Typhoon," said AccuWeather Meteorologist Courtney Spamer.
"However, monsoonal rains picked up across the area following the typhoon, which likely attributed to the landslide."
