Brad Pitt Has Seen Kids Twice Since Split — but Not Son Maddox, Says Source

Brad Pitt has not seen his oldest son, Maddox, since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce last month.

A source tells PEOPLE that actor has twice met with several of the kids, but Maddox was not present either time.

The L.A. Department of Children and Family Services has opened an investigation following an incident on the family’s private plane during which Pitt allegedly got verbally abusive and physical with 15-year-old Maddox.

According to a temporary plan recommended by DCFS and agreed to by Jolie and Pitt, a therapist was present during the actor’s first meeting with his kids.

And while Pitt, 52, and Jolie, 41, remain locked in negotiations, with custody arrangements front and center, the two have not been in communication with one another.

“Brad and Angie haven’t had any contact, and it’s all being worked out via their teams,” says a family source in this week’s issue of PEOPLE. “It’s just a sad situation.”
