JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD, Wash. (AP) — A boy who was shot in the thigh during a massacre in an Afghan village in March has testified that an American had attacked them and put a gun in his sister's mouth.
Rafiullah testified Saturday via a live video feed from Afghanistan in a preliminary hearing for Staff Sgt. Robert Bales. Bales is accused of going on a rampage through two villages.
He could face the death penalty if convicted.
Rafiullah says his grandmother began wrestling with the shooter and the boy and his sister ran to another room. Their grandmother also followed. All three were shot.
