The Revenge border guard brigade captured a Russian occupier in Donetsk Oblast who had donned a Ukrainian army coat and surrendered after a failed assault, the State Border Guard Service reported on Telegram on May 24.

The Russians in a small group tried to enter the positions of the Defense Forces during the night assault. Border guards inflicted fire damage and forced the occupiers to retreat. But one of them decided to turn himself in as a prisoner, putting on Ukrainian military uniform.

The prisoner found the coat while driving to the positions of the border guards, he said. He comes from Circassia and came to the war in Ukraine, having signed a contract with the Russian army.

He was handed over to law enforcement agencies, the border guards said.

The 3rd separate assault brigade captured the deputy platoon commander of the 752nd regiment of the Russian army, who called himself Senior Sergeant Ivan Semenov, near the village of Raihorodka in Luhansk Oblast, on May 11.
