This Bootleg RuPaul Ornament Has Everyone Laughing — Except Mama Ru

The Christmas holiday season is rapidly approaching along with all its associated merch, but one person who’s definitely not celebrating on that front is drag legend Rupaul, whose bootleg ornament is, well, a hot mess and has social media ho-ho-hoing hard.

It’s basically the perfect example of that internet joke: What I ordered versus what I got. In this case, the ornament is almost Rupaul... if it were her Madame Tussauds wax figure that’d been left out in the sun. It’s horrifying, but in the way that makes you want to buy a dozen — which is exactly what famed drag artist Trixie Mattel did, leading Rupaul to (jokingly) clap back.

It all started with Twitter users posting images of the unofficial decoration and tagging Ru, who wasn’t shy about her feelings on the subject. "Unauthorized Crap," she wrote on Twitter, alongside the hashtag, #RuinedChristmas.

Ever the marketing genius, she suggested picking up an authorized version instead.

But that hasn’t stopped the internet from having a field day with the new ornament — and we are dying.

Too early for a Christmas miracle? I don’t think.
