It was only a matter of time before online giant Boohoo went for a slice of the affordable wedding dress pie, especially since rivals Missguided took a step into the market themselves just last year.

Considering that fast fashion is what Boohoo is all about, you might be surprised that anyone would consider buying their wedding dress - the single most photographed outfit that any woman will ever wear - from the brand.

But as millennials look to shift away from expensive weddings, prioritising finances for other elements of their lives, we can certainly see the appeal of an £40 wedding dress over one with two extra zeros.

With so many high street brands cashing in on the wedding market - Topshop's debut bridal range will be released any day now - it'll be interesting to see how the shift effects more traditional bridal boutiques and whether designer dresses will soon become the unusual choice for modern-day brides.
