PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Police say a suicide bomber has attacked a Shiite Muslim mosque in northwest Pakistan, killing at least four people.

Senior police officer Abdul Hamid Khan says the bombing Friday in the city of Peshawar also wounded several people. The attack occurred as Shiites were holding Friday prayers.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

Radical Sunni Muslims have stepped up attacks against minority Shiites in Pakistan over the last 18 months. Sunni extremists consider Shiites to be heretics.
