Boise State’s Degenhart adds another all-conference honor to already stellar resume
Boise State’s Tyson Degenhart has been named All-Mountain West every year of his college career.
The 6-foot-8 junior from Spokane, Washington, was named first-team all-conference by Mountain West coaches on Tuesday. He was named to the first team by media members on Monday.
Degenhart leads the Broncos with 16.8 points a game this season, and he was one of the top scorers during Mountain West play. He scored at least 20 points 10 times since league play began and averaged 18.2 points in conference games, which ranked No. 2 in the conference. He also averaged 6.5 rebounds a game and shot 54.2% from the floor in league play.
He was named Mountain West Freshman of the Year and made the honorable mention team in 2021-22. Last season, Degenhart earned first-team all-conference honors after leading the Broncos in scoring (14.1).

Three other Broncos were honored this week. O’Mar Stanley made second-team all-conference, while Chibuzo Agbo and sixth-year senior Max Rice were named honorable mention by the conference’s coaches.
Stanley was a third-team pick by the media on Monday, with Agbo and Rice also being honorable mention.
Stanley, a junior who transferred in from St. John’s, averaged 13.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. He averaged 14.4 points and 7.2 rebounds and posted 20 blocked shots in Mountain West play. Stanley and Utah State’s Great Osobor were the only players in the conference with more than 400 points, 190 rebounds and 35 blocks.
Osobor, who averaged 17.6 points and 9.0 rebounds, was named Newcomer of the Year and Player of the Year by Mountain West coaches. He was named Newcomer of the Year by the media, while San Diego State’s Jaedon DeDee took Player of the Year honors in that vote. LeDee led the league at 20.5 points a game and 19.8 points in conference play.
Agbo averaged 13.6 points and 5.1 rebounds a game this season. He leads the Broncos with 72 3-pointers and is shooting 41% from beyond the arc. Rice averaged 12.5 points and ranks No. 2 on the team with 71 3-pointers, including an unreal lob from near midcourt in Boise State’s overtime win against San Diego State in the regular-season finale.
No. 3 Boise State (22-9, 13-5) opens the Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas Thursday against the winner of Wednesday’s opening-round game between No. 6 New Mexico and No. 11 Air Force.
