Boil water advisory issued for portion of Kalamazoo Township

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A water main break has prompted a boil water advisory for a portion of Kalamazoo Township.

The affected areas include West Main Street from Wealthy Street to Pinehurst Boulevard, excluding the northwest corner of Pinehurst Boulevard; Jennison Avenue from Kenwood Street to West Main Street; East Westwood Drive from West Main Street south to West Westwood Drive; and West Westwood Drive from West Main Street south to East Westwood Drive.

Everyone in the affected area should boil their water for at least two minutes before consuming it. It’s safe to bathe in the water without boiling it.

Water main breaks cause a pressure drop, which can allow bacteria to enter the system. The boil water advisory is precautionary.
