Boil water advisory extended after water main break in South County

ST. LOUIS SOUTH COUNTY – The water main break on April 25 led to the early closure of four schools and prompted a precautionary boil water advisory. The advisory has been extended for Missouri American Water customers.

The water company posted an update on their Instagram, stating, the precautionary boil water advisory for areas in unincorporated South St. Louis County has been extended. Please continue to bring any water intended for drinking or cooking to a rolling boil for 3 minutes.

Water is safe for bathing, washing, and other non-consumable uses. They said customers will be notified when the Precautionary Boil Water Advisory is lifted, which could be later today if samples confirm the water is safe for consumption.
