BOGALUSA, La. (WGNO) — Bogalusa Mayor Tyrin Truong says he’s pressing charges against a council person who he claims threatened him at a city council meeting.

“The Bogalusa City Council’s lack of decorum has become concerning. Last night, I was threatened by a council person with a ‘loaded double barrel shotgun.’ Being that this incident was caught on livestream, I have decided to press charges to make an example.” the post reads.

Truong’s post states that the council cannot conduct themselves in that manner and “decry gun violence amongst teenagers.”

Truong also said he is “tired of the death threats.”

In addition to the alleged threat, Truong states the Bogalusa City Council passed a spending freeze that would cancel programs like the summer YouthCorps jobs program and impact police and fire services.
