Body Found In Vacant House Is City's 88th Homicide Of 2012

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Investigators have determined that a man who was found dead in a vacant house in Columbus Sunday morning was shot, making the death the city’s 88th homicide of 2012. Officers were called to 1282 Cole St. on a report of a dead body that was found. Medics pronounced the male victim dead at 10:41 a.m. Homicide detectives, crime scene specialists and a representative of the coroner’s office began an investigation that revealed that Jermaine R. Hill, 35, was shot to death. Police said the residence is an unoccupied home that was being used by the homeless and drug abusers.
