Body found in Rocky Mountain National Park

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) — A Rocky Mountain National Park team has found the body of a man who was believed to have been fatally injured in a fall during an avalanche Sunday.

The team found the body of 43-year-old David Laurienti, of Estes Park, Tuesday afternoon and moved it to a more secure location. Rangers plan to evaluate options Wednesday for recovering his body.

Park officials say it appears Laurienti and 45-year-old Lisa Foster, of Estes Park, were caught in an avalanche Sunday evening while descending Ypsilon Mountain. Rescuers found Foster with numerous injuries Monday afternoon and worked through the night to bring her to safety. She was taken to a hospital early Tuesday.
