Body found with multiple gunshot wounds in northern Wisconsin, Department of Criminal Investigation investigating

PARK FALLS, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in northern Wisconsin say they are investigating an incident after an individual with multiple gunshot wounds was found dead Saturday afternoon.

According to a release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Park Falls police officers responded at 4:09 p.m. to reports of shots fired near the 600 block of 2nd Avenue North in Park Falls.

On the scene, officials say they found the body of a deceased adult with gunshot wounds along with a handgun.

The DCI reports that a suspect has been taken into custody and there is no danger to the rest of the community.

At this time, no other information about the incident is available and an investigation by the DCI is ongoing.
