Board of Elections to act on polling site change

Mar. 13—Crawford County Board of Elections meets this evening to act on changing the location of one of Meadville's in-person polling sites, effective with the April 23 primary election.

The board is scheduled to vote on relocating the in-person voting site for Meadville 2nd Ward, 2nd Precinct from the St. Brigid Church Social Center, 383 Arch St., to Juniper Village, 455 Chestnut St.

The board meets at 6 in the Assembly Room at the Crawford County Courthouse, 903 Diamond Park, Meadville. Public attending the meeting are to use the courthouse's main entrance.

At its Feb. 28 meeting, Board of Elections members unanimously voted to post the proposed change publicly at both sites following brief discussion of the issue.

Pennsylvania election law requires formal notification of a pending site change be posted at both the current polling location and the proposed new location at least five days before a change.

The proposed change came about after officials of Epiphany of the Lord Parish previously informally informed the board that the St. Brigid Church's Social Center may not be available for use as a polling site in November.

Meadville 2nd Ward, 2nd Precinct had a total of registered 1,660 voters for the November 2023 general election, according to the Crawford County Election and Voter Services Office.
