Blundering police officer accidentally Tasers his partner during arrest

This is the moment a police officer in the US accidentally struck his partner with a Taser prong during a chaotic arrest.

The body cam footage shows two officers arresting a man, pulling him from a vehicle before one of them wrestles the suspect to the ground. During the commotion the second officer fires a stun gun, which hits his partner in his side.

The prong also strikes the suspect, causing confusion as the officer's partner rolls around in pain on the ground.

The injured officer repeatedly calls out for his partner to release the trigger on the stun gun.

"Sorry. Sorry Nick," the officer tells his partner when he realises what he has done.

"You're alright," responds the injured officer.

According to local news outlets, the officers were responding to a domestic violence call in Riverside on Thanksgiving Day.

The man arrested at the scene was charged with resisting arrest, which he has pleaded not guilty to.

Police say the officer who was hit was hospitalised and is expected to make a full recovery.
