Blues Traveler to perform at The Devon this summer

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) – Blues Traveler is coming to Decatur’s Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater this August, along with Big Head Todd and The Monsters.

The bands will perform on August 9 and tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. April 4 on devonamphitheater.com.

Since their formation in 1987, Blues Traveler has released 14 studio albums — over half of which have received coveted RIAA certifications ranging from gold to platinum. Their hit song “Run-Around” had the longest charting radio single in Billboard history and earned them a Grammy award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Most recently, Blues Traveler received a Grammy nomination for their 2021 album “Traveler’s Blues,” which was up for Best Traditional Blues Album.

The jam band has played over 2,000 live shows in front of more than 30 million people. But not only have they rocked stages around the world — they’ve rocked screens, too. Blues Traveler can be seen and heard in movies like Blues Brothers 2000, Kingpin, and Wildflowers and others. They were also featured on Saturday Night Live, Austin City Limits, VH1’s Behind the Music, and held the record for the most appearances of any artist on The Late Show with David Letterman.

At the Devon Amphitheater, Blues Traveler will be joined by fellow rock band Big Head Todd and The Monsters. The platinum-selling quartet is influenced by hard rock, soul, the blues, and a twist of country.

This concert is not included in the 2024 Devon season ticket package, however 2024 Season Ticket Holders will have a special pre-sale opportunity. More details will be sent out via email, Decatur Park District officials said.
