Blues fans travel through severe weather, hoping for a win

ST. LOUIS – Some St. Louis Blues fans ran into a hailstorm on their way to Enterprise Center Monday night. Severe weather rolled through the St. Louis area before the start of the game, which the Blues need to win to keep their playoff hopes alive.

“The next thing you know, (the hail) started almost cracking the windows and everybody started going underneath the bridge,” Jason Mitchell, a fan who got caught in the hailstorm, said.

A.J. Brown was traveling through Chesterfield when he encountered the storm.

“There was a bunch of hail on the ground, and it looked like snow had just went through,” he said.

Blues fan Bill Thorpe was determined to get to Monday’s game, holding out hope the team could make the playoffs.

“If we know anything from being a Blues fan for a long time, 2019 taught us that anything’s possible,” Thorpe said, referring to the team winning the Stanley Cup after climbing out of last place in their division.

St. Louis Blues fan Cal Palucci is hoping the teams above St. Louis stumble while the Blues win the rest of their games.

“I think our chances are pretty slim, but I think we can do it,” he said.
