Bluefield West Virginia Police Department releases bench warrant list

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) — A bench warrant list was released by the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department on Friday, April 26, 2024.

The bench and arrest warrants were issued by the Bluefield City Municipal Court, but it is not the full warrant list. The people on the list could be wanted for reasons such as obstructing an officer, DUI, assault, destruction of property, possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, prostitution, or other reasons, not just traffic tickets.

According to a post on the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department Facebook page, the people on the list can turn themselves in at the Bluefield City Police Department. After turning themselves in, they will be processed through the jail and given a bond amount. If the person makes bond, they will be released and receive a future court date. Those who have show cause warrants can go to the Bluefield City Police Department to pay the fine and get the warrant dismissed.

The defendants are believed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The listed individuals have had previous convictions of crimes charged through the City of Bluefield.
