Bluefield West Virginia Police Department releases bench warrant list

BLUEFIELD, WV (WVNS) — A bench warrant list was released on Thursday, May 23, 2024 by the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department.

The bench and arrest warrants were issued by the Bluefield City Municipal Court, but it is not the entire warrant list. The listed individuals could be wanted for reasons such as DUI, destruction of property, prostitution, assault, drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, obstructing an officer, or other reasons, not just traffic tickets.

According to a Facebook post made by the Bluefield West Virginia Police Department, the people on the list can go to the Bluefield City Police Department and turn themselves in. When someone on the list turns themselves in, they will be processed through the jail and given a bond amount. The person will be released and will get a future court date if they make bond. Those who have show cause warrants can go to the Bluefield City Police Department and pay the fine to get the warrant dismissed.

The defendants are believed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The listed individuals have had previous convictions of crimes charged through the City of Bluefield.

Anyone who wants to confirm a name on the list can call 304-327-6101, option 1, and speak with a dispatcher to confirm the warrant.

Those who know where a listed individual is can message the Bluefield, WV Police Department Facebook page, or call the department at 304-327-6101, option 1 with information so that the Police Department can pick them up, or have another law enforcement agency go get them.
