Blue Diamond Growers lays off 38 corporate positions

(FOX40.COM) — Blue Diamond Growers announced it laid off 38 corporate employees.

According to the Sacramento-headquartered company, the layoff, initially reported by the Sacramento Business Journal Tuesday, represents less than 3% of the company’s workforce.

The company said the laid-off employees will receive severance and “outplacement services.”

The company said it was facing industry challenges but also said it was investing in “more sales capabilities to strengthen our core business and break into new markets.”

In its latest annual report, the company reported a roughly one-third decrease in net proceeds from 2022 to 2023.
