From the listing photos, this 18,000-square-foot mansion might look like a grand historic European villa set amid park-like grounds, but sadly, this place is set on a cramped lot in a Potomac, Md., subdivision. That hasn't kept the palatial limestone manse from asking an astounding $6.9 million, although the staging, or the lack thereof, is a little disappointing.

The seven-bedroom, nine-and-a-half-bath spread was built by local luxe builder David Niroo and includes an extravagant Italian wood-paneled library. There's a pool and home theater (of course), but also one of those central vacuum set-ups so the maids and butlers don't have to spend as much time on dusting the knick-knacks.

Looks like that $1.5 million modern on 1.3 acres in Potomac that Curbed DC turned up really is a good deal.
