Did Prince William fly economy on New Zealand trip?
A month ahead of his impending nuptials, Prince William took time out last week to visit earthquake victims in New Zealand on what an aide described as an "emotionally raw" tour— and may even have flown economy class.
There are unconfirmed reports that the prince flew cattle class—using the pseudonym "Mr. Pinkerton-Smith"—for the trip from Auckland to the earthquake-ravaged city of Christchurch.
The prince talked to locals and shook hands in the streets of the worst-hit areas, and attended a memorial service for victims. He seems to have been a hit. "In him, we have met a future king who knows when he should be here and, even more important, seems comfortable when he is here," the New Zealand Herald, the country's best-selling paper, editorialized.
A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck Christchurch late last month, causing widespread damage and around 180 fatalities.
Prince William is set to marry Kate Middleton on April 29th at Westminster Abbey.
