If there's one word that describes a die-hard "Star Wars" fan, it would be "dedicated." Mark Dermul of Belgium exemplifies that dedication. When Dermul learned that the home used for Luke Skywalker's house in the movies was in desperate need of repair, he set off on a mission to fix it.

In a remote area of the Tunisian desert, Dermul led a group of "Star Wars" fans as they renovated and repainted what is commonly referred to as the Lars Homestead. The sci-fi writer raised $11,000 for the renovation on his website in a section titled Save Lars. The website features photos, a diary, and videos of the reconstruction.

To make the reconstruction as authentic and detailed as possible, one of the cement steps of the home consists of sand from all the other "Star Wars" shooting locations in Tunisia. After a week of working in 115 degree temperature, the team returned Luke Skywalker's home to its original condition with details that only a true "Star Wars" fan could appreciate. The entry coder at the front door features red and white buttons just as it did in the movies.

The out of this world support does not end with "Star Wars" fans.

Fans of Steven Spielberg's 1982 classic, "E.T.: The Extraterrestrial," are marking the 30th anniversary of the release of the film in unique fashion. Fans got together yesterday and rode their bikes through the streets of Los Angeles to re-create the film's iconic escape scene, and they documented it with a YouTube video.

More than 100 fans wore red hoodies just like the lead character "Elliott" in the original film. The lead rider placed a look-alike "E.T." doll wrapped in a blanket in a milk crate attached to the front of his bike. The ride ended with a free outdoor screening of the movie.
