Social Media Mistakes to Stop Making

Millennials are never absent from conversations about the future, and those conversations range from practical to downright insulting. How will the world change as this generation grows up? How will social sharing and the workforce change? Are millennials too self-obsessed to put down their phones and get ajob? As part of Yahoo News' live-stream event, " Born Digital," experts and college students tackled what people are doing wrong on social media and what they can do right. This generation has grown up with sharing (or oversharing) every aspect of life. How do you navigate what helps you and what turns you into a public embarrassment?

Farnoosh Torabi, of Yahoo's own "Financially Fit," was joined by Matthew Segal, founder and CEO of OurTime.org, an organization that works to help young people get ahead; Dan Schawbel, author of "Promote Yourself: The New Rules for Career Success"; and Cara Friedman, senior director of marketing at Likeable Media. We also heard some social media tips from students at Iona College. What wisdom did they all have to share? Check out the video to find out.
