The toy giant Lego is coming out with a new line of toys for girls. The Danish plastic toy maker announced the "Lego Friends" line geared toward girls ages 5

and up. People on Twitter are lashing out at Lego for creating a line that looks so stereotypically feminine -- especially the mostly pink color of the toys. One person tweeted, "Girls can like a toy without it being pink." Lego CEO Jørgen Vig Knudstorp notes "this is the most significant strategic launch we've done in a decade." And in order to avoid the holiday competition, the line will roll out on January 1, 2012. This isn't the first time a toy company released a female version of a popular classic. In 1957 Lionel came out with a pastel train set called "Lady Lionel."

For our second story, one Wisconsin mayor has found an enemy in one teen and his Twitter account. Last month, 18-year-old Asher Heimermann launched a parody Twitter account of Sheboygan Mayor Bob Ryan. The account, @MayorBobRyan, was started after the mayor was involved in several alcohol-related incidents. It's full of joke tweets such as "I'm off to rehab for the sixth time in three years." As you might imagine, Ryan is not happy. He sent a cease-and-desist letter to Heimermann, claiming that the account is identity theft. But, the Wisconsin teen refuses to go quietly. Not only will Heimermann not close the account, he's also now running against the mayor in the upcoming Sheboygan election. He even set up a campaign webpage (AsherHeimermann.org), and he actually has a plan! He wants to expand public transit, create living wages, and privatize the senior activity center. But Heimermann's back-up plan if he doesn't get elected is to study business at the University of Wisconsin.
