Improv Everywhere Re-creates Famous Pole-Licking Scene From 'A Christmas Story'

"A Christmas Story" lives in multiple forms these days, from the more traditional seamless loop of the movie on TV during the holidays to the Broadway musical. Our friends at Improv Everywhere decided that 'tis the season to acknowledge the classic film in their final "Movies In Real Life" series.

For the clip, three kids act out the infamous "triple dog dare" scene from the movie. But instead of setting the scene outdoors, the actors walk into a New York subway car, fitted with hidden cameras. After Schwartz, played by 11-year-old Sebastian Thomas, issues the final challenge, 13-year-old Josh Caggiano obliges in the role of Flick.

Thankfully for Caggiano, he didn't have to put his actual tongue on a subway pole. Improv Everywhere fitted the teenager with a prosthetic tongue that stuck thanks to a magnet in the end of it.

Onlookers had mixed reactions, some laughing and others clearly shocked that his "tongue" was stuck. What puts the gag over the top is the appearance of an actual New York firefighter. His name is Jarrett Kotarski, and he is in on the act, too.
