Gov. Chris Christie Gets Into Twitter Argument With Constituent
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who is no stranger to commuter controversy following Bridgegate earlier this year, has been taken to task on Twitter while on vacation with his family in California.
The conversation came after a New Jersey commuter faced delays heading home for the weekend from New York.
The governor tweeted:
According to NJ Transit, the delays have been caused by an Amtrak track issue which is now repaired. I know it's aggravating. Hang in there.

The call to “hang in there” was not received well by transit riders. Twitter user Patrick Daly called out the governor’s decision to cancel a train tunnel in New York City back in 2010.
Daly replied "ARC TUNNEL. You are killing our home values and the NJ economy. We HANG IN THERE at least with delays, 4 times a week."
The two continued to go back and forth in successive and sometime heated tweets.
Daly referenced a famous line said by Christie during Hurricane Sandy:
"Wow. really. People say you are thin skinned, I like the get off the beach you... yet this is the view of every NJT rider."
Christie responded:
@patrickdaly Wow, now you speak for every NJT rider? Do you speak for every taxpayer too?

But it did end somewhat cordially with Daly showing a sign of gratitude tweeting:
@GovChristie I'm not angry at you, dislike you, I just have a different view. If that is demeaning. then not much I can do for you/
