Buffalo Bills Fans Made Video of Themselves Posterizing Rival Fans at Stadium All Season Long

If you’re a Buffalo Bills fan like me, you understand that for many years, you haven’t had much to celebrate. For fourteen straight seasons, the Bills have failed to make the NFL playoffs. That’s the longest active drought in football. The Bills hold the same distinction for losing seasons – they haven’t finished with a .500 winning percentage or better since 2004. It has gotten so bad that Thurman Thomas, the Hall of Fame running back on Buffalo’s last playoff team, is starting to believe the team is cursed.

In that context, you can understand why Bills fans would try to put a new twist on tailgating. But instead of cooking up some chicken wings or buying an extra case of Canadian beer, they took a cue from the Bills’ head coach and a few of his players.

Wide receiver Stevie Johnson uploaded a Vine video on the last day of Bills’ training camp in Rochester, N.Y. It showed a player raising a basketball hoop above Doug Marrone, followed by running back Fred Jackson dunking a ball right over the coach’s head.

So Zach, a life long Bills fan who lives in Orchard Park, N.Y., gathered his brothers Colin and Nolan along with some friends. The group shot video on their phones of them dunking on unsuspecting fans of visiting teams outside Ralph Wilson Stadium, a practice commonly referred to as “posterizing.”

Noah Harpster married in to the family. The brothers tasked their in-law with editing the video. He uploaded it to YouTube as “Buffalo #SlamCam.”

“We wanted to make tailgating fun,” Harpster tells us. “We definitely got inspiration from the Freddie Jackson and Doug Marrone video, but they wanted to upgrade it and involve traveling fans.”

The video’s soundtrack adds to the dunks, reactions, and amazing Zubaz pants. Harpster set the over two and a half minute clip to Robert Tepper’s “No Easy Way Out,” of “Rocky IV” fame.

Zach was unavailable for comment as he just started a new job. Harpster works as in digital communication for Phillips Healthcare in Boston. He wouldn’t say what team he roots for, but did reveal that he prefers Duff’s chicken wings to Anchor Bar’s.

Us Western New Yorkers, and the people that marry in to our families, know how to keep priorities straight.
