Boston Cops Stop Crowd Overturning Car After World Series

Boston sports fans are known for being a little rambunctious, but after the Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1, winning the World Series last night, a few Sox fans may have gone too far. A newly released video shows riled up fans rushing a Boston street attempting to flip a car over. Luckily for the car owner, officers from the Boston Police department hopped off their bikes and intervened.

Other drivers were not so lucky. Boston Globe photographer Jessica Rinaldi snapped a picture of a young man standing atop of an overturned car during a riot outside of Fenway Park. The web loved the man’s casual expression and cardigan sweater so much that they turned him into a meme: “Cardigan Man.”
