Arsonist Lights Self on Fire Trying to Burn Down Store

The old cliché goes, “If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.” An Australian arsonist found this out the hard way.

Footage from security cameras of Supps R Us, a nutrition store in Melbourne, Australia, shows a man entering its warehouse around 3 am on December 26. The person quickly walks through the store and out of the camera’s sight. Moments later a series of flashes is seen. Then, the man runs frantically back in to the shot, his left leg ablaze.

Yes, the arsonist set himself on fire. Whether it’s coincidence or karma, it is certainly the reason why this particular video is now going viral. The website Live Leak posted the footage to its YouTube channel over the weekend.

Supps R Us put out a plea for anyone with information to contact authorities. The criminal is still at large. The store notes on its Twitter page that people should be on the lookout for a man in Melbourne with burns to his left leg.

“We are so overwhelmed with the messages of support from everyone after the arson attack on our warehouse,” the company also tweeted. “You are what is keeping us strong!”

The store says it will rebuild. Yesterday Supps R Us began taking online orders again. It is currently holding a “Rise From The Ashes” sale on its website.

No one else was injured in the fire.
