Aaron Paul Helps Chicago Man Pull off Epic Proposal

Jason Lord proposed to his girlfriend Jackie Prater in quite the dramatic fashion, helping out a great cause in the process. Lord enlisted the help of close friends, an inside joke, and actor Aaron Paul to pop the big question. Prater said yes.

Paul’s wife, Lauren Parsekian, co-founded a charity called the Kind Campaign. The movement aims to raise awareness to bullying issues through school assemblies, a documentary, and other methods. The “Breaking Bad” star helps his wife’s non-profit by donating his time and other experiences. Paul recently raised $1.8 million for the charity around the series’ finale, complete with a trip for one lucky winner and a guest to watch the final episode with the cast.

Lord donated money to the Kind Campaign and won a personalized video message from Paul. The Chicago resident gathered up friends, and set-up a band to play Mr. Big’s “To Be With You.” The couple sang the song together on one of their first dates, and the tune became an inside joke. Almost three years later, a friend led Prater in to Chicago’s Studio BE, where Lord awaited to serenade his future fiancé.

More friends joined in until the song completed. Then a video of Paul introducing Lord played.

“Hi Jackie, this is Aaron Paul,” he starts off in the video. Prater places her hand over her mouth in shock. “Hope all is well in Chicago. I just wanted to send you a message on behalf of my good friend Jason. I think you know him; who I understand has a very important question to ask you.”

Prater’s favorite actor is Paul. By this point, she is in tears. Lord positions himself on bended knee and asks Prater to marry him. She doesn’t hesitate with her approval.

“Oh, I hope you said yes,” the video from Paul continues. “If you didn’t, it’d be pretty awkward for everyone involved. Good luck to you two.”

He then leaves the couple with parting words that only Jesse Pinkman could get away with.
