Remember the Slinky? It first hit the scene in the 1940s. It's a spring that can do tricks, including traveling down a flight of stairs.
Do you have fond memories of playing with this toy? Well, this video might turn those into nightmares.
The video shows a human-size, multicolor slinky with four limbs undulating and being slung across the stage to a nonstop techno beat in the background. It's trippy.
The colorful creation is the work of Ioan Veniamin Oprea. He lists a wide range of accomplishments on his website, humanslinky.com, including having performed at multiple NBA games, and being featured in Ripley's Believe It Or Not. Oprea has been donning the slinky since at least 1997. His exploits found a new audience in the past couple days with web-users, especially those constantly on the lookout for the bizarre. Its recent surge in popularity can be traced back to radio personality Eduardo Sotelo, also known as Piolín (Spanish for "Tweety Bird"), who posted the video to his show's Facebook page.
People had a wide range of reactions to the post. Here are some of them:
"This thing cracks me up and freaks me out at the same time"
"i'm never going to look at a slinky the same."
"Omg, this is the costume I want for burning man!!!"
And if you're wondering, yes, that is a human in there.
