Virginia Gov. McDonnell’s gift to Obama: golf glove with love

What's the secret to giving the president of the United States a memorable gift? "Opposition research," Virginia Gov. Robert McDonnell quipped Friday after welcoming President Barack Obama to his home state.

McDonnell told reporters traveling with Obama that he had given the president a left-handed golf glove printed with the slogan "Virginia is for Lovers."

"He was very impressed that we knew he wore a left-handed glove,"
McDonnell told Time magazine's Michael Scherer, one of the "pool reporters" on the trip.

"I told him we had done our opposition research."
