The Ticket2012 election shows increasingly partisan nation
If a look at election numbers are any indication, Congress just might dive off the "fiscal cliff."
"There is a reason House members don't see much need to compromise with the other party," Gerald F. Seib writes for the Wall Street Journal on Monday.
Seib looked at the election numbers and found that of the 234 House Republicans elected in November, voters in just 15 of those districts also voted for President Barack Obama. Of the 201 Democrats, nine are from districts carried by Mitt Romney. In the Senate, 10 Republicans are from Obama states and 11 Democrats from GOP states.
What's to blame? Redistricting.
